The mission of the Florida Association of Nurse Assistants is to bring Florida nursing assistants together in mutual support and recognition of their of their contribution to the health care field; to enhance skills and professionalism, by providing and encouraging ongoing education and adherence to a Code of Ethics, as well as awareness of regulations governing their profession; Thereby, furthering the compassionate and efficient care of the sick, elderly, needy and infirm.
FANA Purpose
To create a nonprofit association of NA/HHAs in the State of Florida. To facilitate and promote programs of continuing education. To enhance and promote the professionalism of NA/HHAs through a Code of Ethics, and recognition of their contribution to the health care system. To provide career information, and encourage and promote NA/HHAs to formalize their training through programs of certification, and begin a scholarship fund for tuition reimbursement for this purpose, as well as other programs of continuing education in the health care field. To promote and serve as a resource for individual facility/agency based NA/HHA support groups. These support groups encourage the NA/HHAs to discuss solutions to problems, identify ways to keep current in their field, and to support one another through the development of communication skills, to promote better understanding among co-workers. To serve as a resource to membership on legislative matters affecting the role of the NA/HHA. To further the efficient care of the sick, elderly, needy and infirm. To furnish information, as necessary, to the public on the role of NA/HHAs, and do everything necessary to accomplish the above purposes
